The Great California ShakeOut earthquake drills are an annual opportunity for people in homes, schools, and organizations to practice what to do during earthquakes, and to improve preparedness. The Cerebral Palsy Center was one of more than 10 million groups registered in California to participate in the drills conducted on October 16.
This annual event happens the third Thursday in October at 10:16 AM. The CP Center uses it as an opportunity to practice and educate what should be done in the event of a large quake in our area. After the 60 second Drop, Cover & Hold On drill, participants and staff gathered for instruction and discussion about important emergency procedures in place at the Center, and what individuals should do if a quake occurs when participants are elsewhere.
